  By far the largest branch of the community. A woman at a scale where the ordinary world - furniture, cars, buildings, people - becomes small enough to pick up.

      One moment she is normal, the next she fills the room. Favoured in comics and animation, where the jump cut is the punchline.

    • Clothes Ripping

      Seams splitting, buttons flying, shoes bursting apart. The clothes are the measuring stick that makes the growth legible.

    • Endless Growth

      Growth with no ceiling - through the roof, past the skyline, out of the atmosphere. Usually ends at planetary or cosmic scale.

    • Outgrowing Spaces

      Rooms, houses and vehicles becoming a tight fit, and then a cage. The environment does the work of showing the scale.

  • Handheld & Palm Play

    The tiny character held, examined, teased or carried in her hand. Intimate, close-range, and probably the single most drawn image in the genre.

  • Breast Play

    Cleavage as somewhere to be trapped, carried or smothered. Overlaps heavily with the softer, gentler end of the community.

  • Mouth & Tongue Play

    Licking, tasting, being held between the teeth. The threshold right before vore, and very often enjoyed without ever crossing it.

• Giant Macro Male

  The same fantasy with a giant man at the centre. A smaller branch than giantess, but one with a long history and a dedicated following of its own.

  • Male Growth MMG

    Growth sequences with a male subject, frequently paired with muscle gain rather than pure height.

  • Male Crushing

    Destruction and crushing at macro scale from a male giant. Tends toward the heavier, more dominant end of the tone range.

  • Giant Vore

    Vore scenarios with a giant male predator.

  • Gentle Giant

    Protective, careful, affectionate giants. A deliberate counterweight to the crushing side of the branch.

• Shrinking

  The mirror image of growth. Nobody gets bigger - the world does. Many people find they sit firmly on one side of this line or the other.

  • Shrunken Man SM

    A male character reduced in scale, usually opposite a normal-sized woman. The classic shrinking setup.

  • Shrunken Woman SW

    A female character reduced in scale. A smaller following than shrunken man, but a long-standing branch.

  • Gradual Shrinking

    Steadily losing height while the world stays put. Clothes pooling on the floor, furniture climbing out of reach.

  • Instant Shrinking

    Sudden reduction, usually by device or accident. Drops straight into the situation with no build-up.

  • Nano & Microscopic

    Shrinking past the point of being seen at all - dust-sized, cell-sized, or smaller. Carries its own distinct flavour of helplessness.

  • Shrinking Away

    Shrinking that does not stop, ending in disappearance. A darker and more existential corner of the branch.

  • Miniature Worlds

    Dollhouses, terrariums, desk drawers and shoeboxes. A whole life lived at reduced scale, rather than a single scene.

• Vore

  Being swallowed. Vore is a substantial fetish in its own right that overlaps enormously with macrophilia, since size is what makes it possible at all. Plenty of people are into one and not the other.

  • Soft Vore

    Swallowed whole and unharmed. Overwhelmingly the most popular form, and the one most often paired with a gentle tone.

  • Hard Vore

    Explicitly gory swallowing. A distinctly separate and much smaller audience from soft vore.

    Planets held in the hand, galaxies as a backdrop. The far end of the scale, where physics stops being invited.

  The tone of a scene matters as much as its size. Two pictures at identical scale can appeal to completely different people depending only on how the giant behaves.

  • Unaware

    She has no idea you are there. Enormously popular, because it removes intent from the equation - nothing that happens is personal.

  • Aware & Playful

    She knows, and she is enjoying herself. Teasing rather than cruelty.

  • Cruel & Sadistic

    Deliberate, knowing dominance. The harshest tone in the community, and a firm dividing line for a lot of people.

  • Gentle

    Careful, affectionate, protective. A large and growing share of the community prefers this end exclusively.

  • Keeping & Caretaking

    The tiny character kept, housed and looked after. Domestic rather than dramatic.

    Awe as the driving emotion. Size as something to revere rather than survive.

    Whose eyes the scene is seen through. A defining preference for most people, and often a stronger one than anything to do with scale.

      Looking up. Identification with the small character.

      Looking down. Identification with the large character.

      Neither. Watching the size difference from outside it.

    How the size change gets explained. Largely a storytelling device, but plenty of people have a firm favourite.

      The classic device. Instant, deliberate, and usually pointed at someone on purpose.
